The band is a rockabilly trio with Jan Svensson on vocals and accoustic guitar, Johan Jonasson on lead guitar and Kalle Victor on double bass. The style is early and primitive. The material is a mix of their own and lesser known musical jewels. The band has played in different parts of Europe on festivals all the way down to Portugal. They have a 45" out on the hip in-the-know label Victone records with is gaining new friends and fans day by day. The titles are: Pay it no mind/You've got me climbin' the walls, both written by Mr Svensson. Their show is a non-stop crowd pleaser. Smokey Matt and His Saddle Swingers is a 1940s and early 1950s styled five piece band, playing a blend of hillbilly, western swing and country music. As a band they are rather new on the scene, but all members have been deeply involved with music all their lives. The band is fronted by Smokey Matt and Tessie Lou doing the main vocals, but there's many vocal and harmony combinations among the Saddle Swingers.
Smokey Matt himself does the lead vocals and plays lead guitar. He has been playing, singing and spreading the country music gospel all his life, entertaining friends and family whenever there's a chance, but he don't mind sitting in with a swinging jazz band every now and then.
Tessie Lou sings lead and harmony, and also handles the drums and washboard rhythm. She also sings jazz and 1940s popular music in other estimated musical contexts.
The fiddle player is "Fiddlin'" Sara Jefta, an ultra-talented young girl with a classical training. She's a full-time musician, subliming the Saddle Swingers with her incredible skills. She also does fine vocals, not least with Tessie Lou.
The bass player is the legendary Charlie "Chaps" Victor (Carl-Johan Viktor), who has played with most of the big names and on most stages on the rockabilly and hillbilly scene. He also sings with the band.
For this tour the Saddle Swingers use the talented Johan Johansson on rhythm guitar. He's otherwise lead guitar player in several prosperous rockabilly bands as well as a very fine drummer.

This is the first european tour for Smokey Matt and His Saddle Swingers, even if most of the members have toured all over Europe many times with other bands. They all live in the southern parts of Sweden. Smokey and the band has many musical heroes, of course, like Bob Wills, Hank Thompson, Bill Boyd, Charline Arthur, Texas Jim Lewis, Rex Allen, Jean Shepard, just to name a few.
