Founder member and guitar player Randy lived and played in England and the USA before he reunited his German band Randy Rich & The Poor Boys. The trio originally formed in 1997, and he brought his line-up back together again in September 2003.
The line-up is now better than ever! All of the three members are able to play at least two instruments - and so even as a trio they can create different styles from 50s Country to Rockabilly and Rock'n'Roll. The boys play well-known songs, obscure late 50s songs, instrumentals and original material. It's also important to mention their polished harmony singing. They have around 300 songs in their repertoire, including over 50 Randy Rich & The Poor Boys original.
The trio has toured 13 countries in Europe as well as 20 States of the USA, making new fans everywhere they play. Highlights have been performances in Hemsby, England and Las Vegas, USA. 1999 saw the release of their first EP was published on Part Records which was sold out within a year. Different songs have also been appeared on several compilations albums, and recently their own first long-player was issued by Rhythm Bomb Records.
The skill and reputation of these musicians have brough them the opportunity to back up original Rockabilly legends such as Jack Earls, Glenn Honeycutt (both Sun Records), Janis Martin (RCA) and Alvis Wayne.
At their gigs you will be impressed of their obvious love of the music and the attention to detail. Original instruments, microphones, amplifiers and authentic clothes are the trademark of the trio - but the most important thing is the music that sounds as fresh and lively as it did more than 50 years ago! If you have the opportunity to see them play, be sure not to miss it!
The line-up:
Randy Richter: lead guitar, vocals, harmony vocals, piano
Michael Kielas: bass, vocals, harmony vocals, drums
'Red' Martin: drums, acoustic rhythm guitar, electric guitar
